Read it 2011 (#Readit2011) online reading challenge began with a bang this year with the January theme of ‘Scare up a good book’ (#scugb). Readers were encouraged to read and comment, via Twitter, Blog comments or written book reviews, on horror fiction and/or horror themed non ficiton books. The library provided 2 Suggested Reads Bookmarks for those who enjoy fiction or non fiction, see below for the link to these resources.
Two great comments sent in by readers were:
Title – The Death Instinct
Author – Jed Rubenfeld
What they thought – Set on September 1920. Wall Street is attached by a storming explosion. Who did it? Why? A fiction book with a lot of facts which are so familiar today.
Title – Blue Eyed Boy
Author – Joanne Harris
What they thought – A chilly psychological thriller. You don’t want to put it down…but you have to because you need to breathe.
The theme for February is Romance, otherwise known as Heart Reads (#heartreads) so why don’t you get into the spirit of today, Valentine’s Day, and start reading a romantic tale of fact or fancy! See below for some romantic inspiration.
