The 13th Davitt Awards Longlist

61 books by Australian women are competing for the Davitt Awards presented by Sisters in Crime Australia. The Awards set up 22 years ago, were created by Sisters in Crime Australia – an organisation that aims to bring Australian women together who write crime and mystery. Categories this year include Best Novel (Adult); Best Novel (Children’s and Young Adult); Best True Crime Book; Best Debut Book (any category) and Readers’ Choice (as voted by the 600 members of Sisters in Crime Australia). This year, the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award will also be awarded.

The CWA Gold Dagger Award Longlist 2013

From The Crime Writers Assosication UK, a list of eight titles have been listed for this year’s Gold Dagger Award. Australian author Michael Robotham has his ‘Say you’re sorry’ listed and we wish him good luck.

The International Dagger is shared between two French authors Fred Vargas and Pierre Lemaitre; and Andrew Taylor has won an unprecedented third CWA Ellis Peters Historical Dagger with The Scent of Death.
