Mystery Writers of America has announced the winners of the 2013 Edgar Allan Poe Awards, which have selected from the best in mystery fiction, non-fiction and television published or produced in 2012.
Crime writings are popular in Western literature. Every year there are some good works to be printed or adapted into movies, or TV series. Those stories are psychologically and ethically challenging or sometimes extremely upsetting. However they draw attention from wide range of readers. In Edgar’s own words ” I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active – not more happy – nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.”
Well, we just have to hope we have made progress on humanity.
