2016 Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award

memory artistFrom the shortlist of four, Katherine Brabon has won this year’s Australian/Vogel’s Literary Award for her novel The Memory Artist, an ‘intelligent, moving, Russia-themed meditation’.

Other shortlisted titles are

Rocky Road by Anna Daniels, ‘a romantic—and at times unromantic—exploration of a full-on life’; A Minor Fifth by Gareth Dickson, which is described as ‘voluptuous, funny [and] music-inclined’; and Coffin’s Reach by Christopher Przewloka, a ‘hard-nosed crime and family drama’.
