Discussion Notes from Thursday Book Club

The last Thursday Book Club celebrated their 3rd birthday in August with a “wild party”of assorted goodies and a lovely birthday cake.

We discussed our latest read, “Raisens and Almonds” by Kerry Greenwood. All agreed it was an enjoyable easy read. The main character is Phyrne Fisher, a well educated, independent and wealthy woman during the 1920’s, working as a private detective. A Sherlock Holmes but in a female version.

Beautiful adventurous, seductive and smart, Miss Fisher, can solve crimes in the wonderful city of Melbourne, that the police are unable to do. There is also a tv series of the books at ABC shops and has been a weekly show on the ABC earliar this year. Quick and easy, a bit of fun. Recommended if you would like something  quick and easy, simple. Fun.
