Less than perfect – a book review

Title: Less than perfect

Author: Ber Carroll

Sarah’s pick

Caitlyn O’Reilly grew up in Northern Ireland. Her father is a professor of ethics and has high expectations for his children.  Caitlyn falls in love and goes to university and for a while everything is going well. But then her life, and the lives of many around her, is changed by an awful event.

Caitlyn moves to Australia and has a new life with a successful career. She is a bit of a risk taker and this can be to her detriment. Then she meets Matthew and this brings up the issues from the past she has tried to avoid.

This novel looks at issues such as trust and betrayal, and whether we can really put our past behind us.

If you like this book Ber Carroll has written several others that are held by the library. Or try other Irish chick-lit authors such as Cecelia Aherne, Marian Keyes, Cathy Kelly or Sheila O’Flanagan.
