What have you been reading lately? On Thursday 11 October between 10:30 – 11:30am Parramatta City Library held a reading forum. From prize winning Australian novels to historical fictions set during the Great Wars, romances, true crime, biographies and adult non-fiction were shared. Discussion Notes from Thursday Book Club
The last Thursday Book Club celebrated their 3rd birthday in August with a “wild party”of assorted goodies and a lovely birthday cake.
We discussed our latest read, “Raisens and Almonds” by Kerry Greenwood. All agreed it was an enjoyable easy read. The main character is Phyrne Fisher, a well educated, independent and wealthy woman during the 1920’s, working as a private detective. A Sherlock Holmes but in a female version. Continue reading
